Losing

It seems we are in a losing battle against our house. A month ago the days got hotter and hotter. The outdoor temperatures were inescapable inside our own home. We were going crazy. We couldn't understand why our brand new A/C unit couldn't keep up with a hot day. It took this
to happen before we realized something was wrong. So we loaded up the car with necessities and drove the short mile to cooler temperatures. I am so grateful for family who literally takes care of us {in all the ways people can be taken care of} when crisis disrupts our lives. We have the best family/support system three needy people {and a dog} could ever hope for. So a lot of drama with getting the a/c fixed, but now that has improved. It wasn't the brand new a/c unit but our duct-work that had giant holes/rips in it so essentially we were cooling off the attic. Lovely power bills. As that drama was ensuing more drama came the day after we had moved back into our "cooler" house. We went to church and came home and the house was still disgustingly hot. It got up to 87 degrees that day. I had invited my parents over for Sunday dinner to thank them for letting us crash at their house for a week. So as I fixed dinner and sweated like a pig I noticed water leaking from the ceiling. A corner in the kitchen was all wet and that meant a leak was coming from something in the 300 degree attic. We ate a very tension filled dinner with my parents before we told them the news. They helped us re-pack and sympathized with us. Add tons of drama from home warranty/being screwed by our realtor and that leak got fixed. It currently looks like this.
Lovely. While we waited for that to dry up we stayed at my parents. The other night Jordan went to the house to get something and noticed wetness once again. A second leak next to the previous. It is currently at this moment being looked at and hopefully fixed while I write this post. In the meantime...Oliver started preschool this last week at Miss Peggy's!

He never even looked back and has loved going!
That night Jordan's co-worker gave him two Diamondbacks tickets. Jordan wanted me to go with him, but I thought Oliver was big enough and would absolutely love going way more than me. So they enjoyed a father/son outing.

So much fun! Cadbury has gotten back into his routine and back to his old shenanigans...
he missed his old backyard and window seat. Don't get too comfortable Cad - one of these days we might actually live in our own decrepit house again.
